Biography:

Music has always been in the stars for Lady LaStar, who goes by Sandra Bourgeon when she is not behind the turntables.  As a young girl growing up in Paris, she knew that music was in her soul and her soul was in the stars.  The Sparkling lights in the sky captivated her with their glowing energy.  In her mind, the stars danced to a track that she picked from her vast music selection in her mind.  Her imaginary record crate included everything from rap to dancehall to gospel songs she remembers hearing as a teenager.

As constellations used to give guidance to early travelers, she would gaze into the night sky when she needed to 'figure things out'.  In 2000, she was finally ready to embark on a lifelong dream of going to Hollywood to become an actress. However, on the way, she fatefully made a stop in San Francisco and it became her destination.  The city embraced her and felt more like home than her own. Sandra finally found a place where she was able to be the unique and dynamic person she was inside.  She also found a family of friends who encouraged her to share the music that they knew was playing deep inside of her.  She came to America to get her star on the Walk of Fame, but she happily realized that it really belonged on her record bag ~ Lady LaStar was born!

Discovering house music was like finding a cookie with all her favorite flavors. Lady LaStar knew that house was her home because it encompassed all the music of her past and then some.  When she is up on the decks, her passion and magnetic energy is undeniable.  Whether it is a packed dance floor or a living room of friends, she masterfully selects track after track. Every night she knows she has the tough job of pleasing the crowd.  Her ultimate fulfillment is when she hears an appreciative cheer and sees glowing happy faces bopping to her beat.  Just like the dancing stars she used to DJ in her mind.

In the future, Sandra hopes to blend her two loves: music & fashion.  Her natural good looks are obvious, but it is her unique style that turns heads.  As she establishes herself as one of the few talented female DJs in house music, Sandra plans to make a name for herself in the fashion world.   Always a whirlwind of energy, when she is not busy producing tracks in the studio, she is behind the sewing machine. There are no limits or boundaries to fashion or house music says Lady LaStar, you can always discover something new, which allows you to be in love with it forever.
